What’s that font?

Sometimes when I ask the client for a copy of their logo I get a letterhead or business card given to me, so I then ask if they have a digital version of the logo, which is greeted with a puzzled look and “I’ve got it on a CD but I’m not sure where it is”. Sometimes you get given a brochure, advert or a link to a website and they want that font. So what do you do when all you have is the image and want to know the name of the font? You can spend hours searching through thousands of fonts, or online there is a handy site called WhatTheFont, it’s still in beta but I have used it a couple of times with great success.
